Steve Madden "Florale" Flats in Metallic Gold

I really shouldn't have bought another pair of shoes, especially flats, because I have more pairs than I know what to do with; but.......these were 50% off at the Steve Madden store!!  And the salesgirl gave me the huge tote bag below instead of a regular shopping bag. Plus I've been eyeing them for the longest because I wanted a pair of gold metallic flats to replace the Zigi Soho ones I had to throw out.

Actually I lied - they're still sitting in my apartment because they're so freaking cute that I can't bear to throw them out! I was actually contemplating taking them to a cobbler or shoe repair shop, hoping that someone would be able to perform a miracle and basically rebuild the entire bottom of the shoe. Also keep in mind that they weren't even that expensive to begin with - I got them for $35 at a department store. Now that I've got these Steve Madden ones, I think I can finally convince myself to part with my beloved Zigi flats, lol.

The Florale flats are MSRP $79.95, but these are on sale now at stores and online for only $34.99 (more than 1/2 off!). I got them in the metallic gold but they also come in: black/teal/purple/beige suede, and snakeskin print. I love the ruffle detailing at the front of the shoe, and how the metallic gold color allows the shoes to be dressed up or down. I find that Steve Madden flats always tend to run smaller in size; I'm normally a US 6.5 in flats, but I had to get these in a size 7. And even the size 7 is just a little too snug; but if I had gotten a 7.5, they would have kept slipping off, so I'm hoping these will stretch out after a few wears. And although the construction of the shoe seems pretty well-made, I am disappointed that these flats (and almost every other Steve Madden flat) have a pretty thin sole. These probably won't be too good for walking long distances, unless you insert an insole. All in all, these are cute, affordable (if on sale), and comfortable as long as you don't plan on doing much walking. I just might get another pair in the teal or purple suede....!
