Happy Friday everyone! Can you guys believe that February is almost over already? Pretty soon it'll be spring time and warm again - not that I'm complaining, of course :)
Anyway, I received a few requests from readers to post a look using the Sleek Storm palette I reviewed here. I have to admit that I'm usually bit hesitant about posting makeup looks because all of my looks usually end up looking the same - light browns with some shimmer - which gets boring fast, blog-wise. When it comes to makeup, I like to play it safe with neutral, toned down colors.
And will you look at that - today's look is exactly all of those things. What a surprise, huh? :)
Sorry if some of the pictures are slightly out of focus - it was a bit difficult holding my T3i with one hand so there's a bit of camera shake.

| Wearing GEO Fresh Brown circle lenses & Darkness False Lashes (K-ma6) |
It's been a long time since
I've brought the GEO Fresh Brown circle lenses out. I'm always out of the house for 8+ hours, so they're not practical for everyday use since they dry out my eyes after a few hours, but I do love how they look in photos. They instantly make me look more wide awake!
These Darkness lashes look quite natural but they're definitely not as comfortable as my Dollywink ones. These are made of plastic so the inner corners feel a bit stiff and prickly agaisnt my eyelids.

To create this look, I used:
#1 - all over eye
#2 - under brow and inner corners
#3 - on lid
#4 - outer corners
#1 - all over eye
#2 - under brow and inner corners
#3 - on lid
#4 - outer corners
Today's look is a very soft smokey eye I created with the brown shades in the Storm palette. I made sure to blend very well at the outer corners so the smokey effect wasn't too harsh for daytime wear.

It's been eons since my last FOTD/EOTD, so this is my first time taking makeup pictures with my T3i. I normally apply my makeup very lightly, so I often have trouble getting the colors to show on camera. I gotta say I love how the camera picks up the shadow colors so much more easily now!

I promise I will try to take more risks with my makeup so you guys won't have to be subjected to any more neutral brown looks haha :P
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! ^___^

Happy weekend to you, Rinny! I love how you look in these pictures. It's very clean, classic, and soft! I love how the circle lenses look on you. Too bad they dry your eyes out, but for special occasions you'll look like a star! I love the sharp line you achieved with a liquid liner too. I've always stuck to gel, but I've been itching to try a liquid one for that sharp and clean look :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful makeup really natural and cute.

I love the eye color. Very nice application.

Maybe safe, but the look is gorgeous! I really love the lipstick.
ReplyDeleteIt's still pretty regardless. :3 I'm the same way! I always tell myself to go for colors, but neutrals are just sooo easy and don't even require thinking. Love the lashes!~
ReplyDeletepretty :) I like my browns too XD
ReplyDeleteI love your make up! It's very natural, which is what I trying to master. Would you have a link for the eye lash

You look so pretty =) Very very pretty! ^_^ Your eye shadow looks great and the eyeliner is perfect for your look :) I love how it brings out your eyes. And the lipstick and lip gloss duo - perfect!
ReplyDeleteI think palette makes a great cheaper alternative to the UD palette! I know what you mean wearing neutral browns - I'm trying to venture out too haha
ReplyDeleteSunday here... Happy Friday to you though!
ReplyDeleteYou're sooooooo pretty!
I guess that there's not so much you can do if you're opting for a natural look whilst applying it to suit monolids :( So it could get boring for FOTDs.
But that's okay!! ^_^ I'm sure we'd like to see anyways.. or at least I do!
Maybe you can try incorporating in some pinks or corals into the neutral look next time (when you're not using the SLEEK palette). A neutral coral FOTD would suit you SO much!! :D
Pretty gal!

ReplyDeleteI love neutral shades like brown for eye make-up. I'm not adventurous with other colours either, but I suppose it's good to try new things every now and again ^^
You look absolutely gorgeous Rinny! :D I love the look - so fresh and natural looking! I love natural brown/neutral eyeshadow looks but I know exaclty what you mean! It's precisely the reason why I don't often post EOTD/FOTDs either!
ReplyDeletepretty! I also have the same palette and been using it like everyday! xx
ReplyDeleteThat makeup is so natural and cute :)

So pretty! Eep I love the Skin79 BB cream. I just ordered my second one. Can't wait to get it!
ReplyDeleteLove it! The pics are also very sharp and clear. The make up plus the lenses made your eyes look really pretty.
ReplyDeleteBtw, the MBD review in which I linked to your post is up :)
I like this look! It's really good for everyday. Nothing wrong with playing it safe, I'm not a really bright and loud eye makeup person myself, so I always like looking at different ways to play with nude and neutral looks.
ReplyDeleteI love the look, it doesn't look too heavy on the eyes and I have this same palette too, might give this a go when I'm not being a lazy ass. The contact lenses look lovely on you girl, very natural.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely look! Now I am even more tempted to go buy that palette...! Thanks for showing us what you can do with those eyeshadows! :)
ReplyDeleteYishi x
Such a gorgeous look. The palette looks beautiful on you! You look so pretty!
ReplyDeleteim like you i play it safe with the naturals as well. i really love this look its so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteRinny you're so pretty! I have this pallete!! I'm going to use number 3 tomorrow :) I usually go for a darker shade of 3 in the original pallete, but 3 looks so nice on you i'm going to try!! xX
ReplyDeleteI love neutrals for make-up because it looks great on just about any skin-tone! I will need to try out that Milani liquid liner, it's very fine! THat's what I need!
ReplyDeleteoh your skin looks super perfect!!! you look poreless! :D
ReplyDeleteI love how you do your make-up! This is such a great look on you. Also, those lenses really suit you.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Sunny! I'm glad to hear you like the look :D
ReplyDeleteMay I suggest trying a liquid liner that comes in the pen/marker form? I find those to be 1000x easier to line with than the liquid liners that come in brush form :)
Thank you! ^^
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Wincey!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Haha my skin really isn't flawless though - I have to admit that I did edit the picture a bit in Lightroom >.<
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Eva! ^^
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Lena! Aww that's actually a bit surprising to hear, because I've always thought that neutral colors were the easiest to work with since they're usually flattering on almost every skin tone. But yeah i agree, we all have different comfort zones :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Katherine! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Amy! Yes exactly! Bolder colors are so hard to wear - I have to worry about if it clashes with the blush, the lipcolor, my clothing, etc. Neutrals are a no brainer :D
ReplyDeleteThanks! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Babi! :D
ReplyDeleteAww thank you so much Jen! :D
ReplyDeleteI think you're very right Nic! A lot of these colors do look very similar to the ones in the Naked palette, now that you mention it :D
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Tram for your sweet comment! You are much too kind and generous haha ^^
ReplyDeleteCoral is actually one of my favorite colors - I'd definitely like to incorporate it into one of my future looks! Thanks for the suggestion!
Haha thank you so much Emi! ^_^
ReplyDeleteThe lemon juice definitely helped a bit, but I'm terrible with sticking to long term skin regimens lol. I did it for about a month or two maybe? But haven't been using lemon juice for probably a year now.
Ever since I've started using the Laneige skincare line though, I've noticed a big difference in the darkness of my sunspots too. Remembering to use a moisturizer is a lot easier and less of a hassle than squeezing lemons lol
A neutral eye look is always very work appropriate :D
ReplyDeletelol aww I'd gladly swap lips with you anyday Cominica! I think slim, small lips are sooo cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you so much! The Geo Fresh Browns are comfortable for the first 4 hours or so but after that they start to dry my eyes out ><
Aww thank you so much Pammy! ^__^
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks so much Elisa! I'm glad to hear you haven't gotten bored of my neutral looks yet :P
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! Yep I definitely agree - sometimes a little change is good ^^
ReplyDeleteAww thank you so much Jian! You're too sweet ^^
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam! The Storm palette is a very versatile palette - I can see why you would use it everyday!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! ^_^
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Fanny! ^__^
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Rolala! ^__^
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Lucka! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for following Francesca!
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy! Glad to hear you are a big fan of the bb cream too :D I've had generally good experiences with all of the Skin79 creams I've tried, so I'm looking forward to trying their other ones in the future :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Joey! ^_^
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Che! ^_^
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Aimee! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Yishi! You could easily recreate this look with just about any neutral palette though - no need to get the Storm one specifically! ^^
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Penelope! ^_^
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Oreleona! ^__^
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Steph! You are too kind ^^
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see what type of look you create with the #3 shadow! :D
I hope you'll like the liner as much as I do Bessie! I love how it doesn't budge at all once you apply it :)
ReplyDeleteOmg thank you Kumiko! It really isn't though - I have to give photo editing credit for that lol
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Feelo! ^_^
ReplyDeleteWtf. How did i miss this post >.> hi5 for being t3i buddies ^^ you seem to be getting the hang of it! :D teach meeeeee :3 btw, love the look - just curious about the skin79 oriental goldbb cream & what u think of it?
ReplyDeleteHaha I still have so much to learn Jen! I still stick to Auto mode for 90% of my photos, or macro and AV mode. I've been reading up on things like shutter speed, aperture, etc., but I still stay away from manual mode. It's just so much easier to use the programmed modes and let the camera do the work for you :P
ReplyDeleteAnd I really like the Oriental Gold bb cream! I use it pretty much everyday now because it doesn't clog my pores like the Missha ones do. I really like how it makes my skin look a bit more glowing too. I've actually reviewed it already if you want to take a look :)
