I’ve been on a bit of a shopping spree lately…I know, shame on me :(
However, I recently acquired an Express gift card, and I figured now was the time to use it since I have had my eyes on one of their leather jackets for quite some time. You may have seen this jacket on a few other petite blogs because it is known to run small – perfect for petites!

I have never owned a leather jacket before, but I’ve wanted to get one
for a long time now because I believe it is a great item to have to add a
bit of edge to any outfit and instantly toughens up one's image.

I chose to go with the clay color because the neutral color would work well during both the fall and spring seasons. The color also looks a lot more flattering on me than a classic black leather jacket would.
The Express Moto Jacket is offered in a number of different colors – I would recommend trying it on in store and ordering online, as their color selection is usually larger online.

I love the motorcycle style of the jacket with all the zipper details and the tab at the neck. There are panels of material on both the sleeves and sides of the jacket, which I personally don’t mind. It helps to give more stretch to the jacket while still maintaining a snug fit.
The jacket is faux leather, but is soft to the touch and could probably pass off as real leather. It doesn’t look cheap at all. Another plus – it doesn’t have that “new leather” smell.
The jacket is a shorter style, which is perfect for petites because the length is just perfect on me, hitting at my natural waist. For taller girls, this jacket may fit more like a cropped jacket, especially if your torso is long. I also like that the sleeves aren’t ridiculously long on this jacket!
The sides of the jacket are very slimming – a size XS feels like it was tailored just for me! When zippered, the jacket is perfectly snug on me. Those with a large chest may find the jacket to be a bit constricting, however.

I also got this dress so I could get free shipping. I love the ruffle detailing down the front and the bright coral color. It actually looks a LOT brighter than the stock photo on the site, which is a pale pink coral.
The dress is unlined, so it feels very lightweight, but I personally prefer them to be lined, because this feels almost too thin in material. Despite being unlined however, the material isn’t sheer at all.

I’m not so sure how I feel about the fit though. I normally wear an XS at Express with no problem, but this dress runs on the large side. The waist is elastic, and if I wear it higher to shorten the hem, there is a lot of extra room in the chest. I kind of like the flowy, loose fit though….it would be perfect for hotter days.
What do you guys think, keep or return the dress?
The jacket is super duper cute! The price is really out of my budget right now though ahaha!
ReplyDeleteThe dress itself is a really pretty coral shade and the flowy part makes it great for summer, but it does look a tiny bit big. That's just my opinion though. It still looks fine on you!

Haha aww, yeah I would wait until Express has those $15/$30/$50 off coupons they send in the mail or some sale on the jacket so you can get it for cheaper. They're always running promos and discounts :)

Hi Sarah! Sorry for the uber late reply >< I bought mine online at their website because I've only seen 1-2 colors available at the stores (usually black and cognac) and they never have my size either. You could always call in to your local Express store and ask them to look for you first too :)
