Sorry I haven't posted all week guys! I've been concentrating on studying for the motor vehicle knowledge test so I could apply for a learner's permit (again). I'm glad to say that I passed with flying colors - I scored a 100%. So I'll be practicing very hard these next few months so I can FINALLY obtain my license!
In my last Sephora haul, a few ladies had requested that I review the Amore Pacific Age Delay Treatment set. I only used 2 of the 3 deluxe samples in the kit though - the sunscreen and the moisturizer. I don't have problems with fine lines or wrinkles yet so I didn't even touch the Line Modifier treatment.
REVIEW: AMORE PACIFIC NATURAL PROTECTOR SPF 30/PA+++
The regularly sized bottle is MSRP $65 for 2 oz. The product claims to be:
"An oil-free sunscreen that offers full-spectrum UVA/UVB protection.
AmorePacific Natural Protector SPF 30/PA+++ is a lightweight, hydrating
formula that guards skin against sun damage and environmental
aggressors. This advanced skincare essential improves moisture balance,
absorbing excess oil and sebum, so your face always looks fresh and
flawless. Formulated WITHOUT:- Sulfates- Petro-Chemicals- Phthalates.
This advanced, multi-purpose formula uses antioxidants and sun
protection to defend the complexion. It is perfect for outdoor activity,
with shine-reducing powders that absorb sweat and sebum, keeping skin
looking and feeling healthy and clear."

This sunscreen was pretty moisturizing but for my dry skin, it wasn't moisturizing enough to skip my day cream altogether. For those with oily skin, using the cream alone may be enough. The cream was easy to blend in, doesn't leave a white cast, is non-greasy, and wears well underneath makeup. I actually really like how this wears on my skin. I can't say I agree with the oil control claims though, as I did still see shine on my T-zone area by mid-day.
I like that this doesn't have that typical "sunscreen" smell found in most common sunscreens; it has the same fragrance that all Amore Pacific
products have. The scent is very light and pleasant.
Compared to my current favorite sunscreen by Shiseido, it doesn't have as much SPF (Shiseido is SPF 55) and costs almost twice as much, but other than that, IMO they're pretty similar in terms of performance. I'd recommend Shiseido's sunscreen for face if you're on a budget and aren't bothered by the "sunscreen" smell.
PROS:
- Non-greasy formula
- Doesn't leave a white cast
- Wears well underneath makeup
- Fragrance
- Super pricey for a sun protector
- Depending on skintype, may not be moisturizing enough to skip use of daytime moisturizer.
My Rating: 3/5 (-2 points because of price for a sunscreen)
REVIEW: AMORE PACIFIC REJUVENATING CREME
This moisturizer is MSRP $90 for 1.7 oz, and claims to be:
"A luxuriously textured moisturizer designed to delay all signs of aging.
This cream, formulated with pure, stabilized bamboo sap, stimulates the
production of hyaluronic acid in the skin to retain moisture throughout
the layers of the skin, not only on the surface. This 24-hour
time-release formula diminishes fine lines and wrinkles. It works to
increase cellular turnover and regeneration, revealing brightness and
radiance. It also provides antioxidants to protect skin from free
radical damage."

The moisturizer is very rich but absorbs quickly and doesn't feel heavy on the skin at all. It really does a great job of moisturizing my dry skin and keeping it moisturized all day long. After using it, my skin feels much more supple and plump. I can't attest to the product's claims to prevent fine lines and wrinkles though, since the sample only had enough product for about 2 weeks of use.

This cream also has the same signature scent found in all of Amore Pacific's products.
PROS:
- Lightweight
- Fast absorbing
- Keeps skin moisturized throughout the day
- Leaves skin feeling very soft and supple
- Fragrance
- Price
My Rating: 4/5 (-1 point because of price)
Have you tried any Amore Pacific products? Any recommendations?
i prefer sunscreens that can allow me to skip my moisturizer so i feel disappointed with theirs. but i really do love their packaging. it's so simple and unpretentious.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of the Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Cream as well, though the price also prevents me from doing anything more than sampling.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried this bran yet, but I've heard of this quite a few times. The sunscreen looks pretty interesting, it is a tinted one? It seems to have a hint of tint in the picture. Thanks for the review, I'll go try check this brand out..^_^~
ReplyDeleteHi Janet! The creme itself looks like a pale pink color, but it applies and dries clear on the skin :)
DeleteThat price does seem super super hefty for a sunscreen! The Rejuvenating Creme sounds very very nice though! Ahhh! Great things are always so so expensive...
ReplyDeleteI have heard about this Korean brand - sounds like a great high-end brand! It's nice the Spf cream is a little tinted too! too bad it's a little pricey!
ReplyDeleteHi Nic! The spf cream looks tinted right out of the tube, but it actually applies and dries clear on the skin :D
DeleteYay, congrats on passing your test with flying colors! I hope the rest of your journey to a driver's license is nice and smooth!
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of this brand yet, and it does look a little too pricey to be honest. In general I stick to pharmaceutical brands for skincare. They're reasonably-priced and effective (for my current needs at least)!
Thank you so much Sunny! I hope getting my license will be just as smooth too!
DeleteAnd I agree, there are a lot of drugstore skincare brands that are just as equally effective as the higher end ones :)
I've not tried any of the Amore Pacific products before and for a sun protector, it's pretty pricey indeed. I've been using Clinique for a while now, I'm thinking of trying out a new brand soon but not sure which, I'm considering Shiseido or Laneige.
ReplyDeleteI've been using the Laneige White Plus Renew line for almost a year now, and it's worked really well for me :)
DeleteI don't know which line from laneige you're planning to try, but all of the items I've tried from them, I've been very happy with!
ooh the Amore pacific rejuvenating creme seems like a decent product :) Personally I've found that although those anti wrinkle creams don't make much of a difference, they do tend to be very moisturising and make your skin feel really soft afterwards! :D

They look like really interesting products but the price... Errr.. :P
ReplyDeletethanks for your reviews. :)
ReplyDeletei've always liked amore pacific since they are backed by actual researches and have kept improving their products and image of the brand as well.
i have to agree with you on the price especially of the sunscreen. i mean technically, with daily use on face only, you'd be out in about 2 months! ;o
I couldn't agree with you more Lena. For a sunscreen, it is definitely very pricey, even if it does everything it claims to!
Deletenice review but wow expensive products!!! i only tried a sample of some face peel from amore pacific and it was nice...though i'm not exactly sure if it did anything LOL. but wow, indeed...pricy....! I heard lots of good things about the Shisheido one. i should try that one someday!

Man, 65 bucks for
ReplyDeletesunscreen... And
what a small tube!
I think I'm gonna
stuck with the
regular drugstore
products :P
But thanks for the
review! You're are
one of my favorite
beautybloggers ^^
xx
Aww thank you so much Mei! You are too sweet ^^
DeleteHaha the tube shown in my pictures is a deluxe sample size, not the full sized product. But even so, $65 for 2oz is still very pricey.
This moisturiser sounds just right for me! I've tried a few different moisturisers but they've either been too heavy or not moisturising enough :/
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in looking for sunscreens without all the bad ingredients in it so this sounds cool in that aspect, but it is quite pricey though! Just found your blog, it's so lovely!

great review! i have amore's moisture hydration spray and love it! xx
ReplyDeleteOo I'll have to check that out; I've been looking for a good moisturizing mist/spray :)
DeleteAck I like the Rejuvenating creme too but it's way out of my budget right now! Their enzyme exfoliator is very good though - I highly recommend it!
ReplyDeleteI've actually tried a sample of that before, and I really liked it too :D I just wish their products weren't so expensive in general, or else I would have gotten the full sized product.
DeleteI don't know if it's just your awesome pictures but the cream looks very light and fluffy.. makes me want to try them. haha I personally don't think I would spend that much on them though (at least not while being a student!).
ReplyDeleteHaha I don't know about fluffy, but the cream is indeed, very light in texture :D
DeleteCongrats on passing the test with flying colors, good for you! Thanks for the review, its very thorough and explanatory as always :)

Thank you Marie! :D
Deletei like your blog :) We can follow eatch other?
ReplyDeleteI have tried any product from this brand before but it seems like a really good brand. The price is really the main hindrance in trying their products out >___<

Great reviews, I have never tried any products by Amore Pacific. They sound like good products though.
ReplyDeleteLittle Petite
I've tried a sample of the moisturiser and quite liked it as a night cream, but ack the price made me faint!
ReplyDeleteRecently I'm into aging skin care and I start with Pond's and Olay products , I haven't tried AMORE, and looking at the price, I will re-re-reconsider it. But thank you for the review...
ReplyDeleteAnyway... I tag you here if you have time to visit.. : http://noniq.blogspot.com/2012/04/blog-award-1-blogger-appreciation-award.html
Thank you so much and have a nice day :)
That's a good price. I haven't heard of this cream but nice review Rinny ;)

I've never tried this brand before. It seems nice, but I am wary of high priced skin care. But if it works, I wouldn't mind paying that much for it. Would you repurchase the creme?
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy! That's the same concern I have too - I don't want to spend a small fortune on a cream just to have it not work for me. I like the creme based on my 2 weeks of usage, but the price is still a very big turn off for me. So I don't think I would purchase the full size bottle. There are more affordable creams out there that I would rather try instead :)
DeleteI luv anything under the Amore pacific Company. I think this is their international-high-end line right? I think the price is a little steep for only 2oz for the sunscreen. Im surpised that the sunscreen its not tinted, cuz it has a hint of colour in your pictures. While i havent tried anything from this particular brand, i luv sulwhasoo, which is also under Amore Pacific, their products are just fantastic. Great review.
ReplyDeleteJessy
Hi Jessy! You may be right; honestly I don't know too much about the Amore Pacific brand. And I couldn't agree more - $60+ for 2 oz of sunscreen is indeed very steep, even if it does everything it claims. I've seen Sulwhasoo products mentioned before by other bloggers but haven't tried their items myself. I'll definitely keep it in mind :D
DeleteHave not tried them personally got I am glad to read your review beforehand! Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeletexo,
nancy
