I feel like it's been forever since I've written a beauty review! A lot of you had requested that I review and swatch the Etude lipsticks I hauled from CosmeticLove, as well as the Skinfood salmon eye products (coming up soon), so here you go! Hope you guys enjoy :)
ETUDE HOUSE: Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk Lipsticks
The Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk collection of lipsticks from Etude House comes in 24 different shades and retails for approximately $12-15 dollars online. The lipsticks are featured and promoted in Etude's "Kiss Note" CF web drama featuring 2NE1's Sandara Park and the boys of SHINee.
Consistent with Etude's cutesy product design, these lipsticks are nothing short of adorable! The pretty pink tubes are adorned with a bow and definitely stand out amongst my other lipsticks. The actual lipstick itself is also stamped with Etude's logo on the side.
It was tempting to add all of the colors to my cart, but I eventually managed to narrow down my choices to just two: BE101 and OR204.
Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk in BE101
Pink brown-toned nude, semi-matte finish
Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk in OR204
Pink toned coral, semi-matte finish
PROS:
- Very pigmented
- Wide variety of colors
- Super cute packaging and design
- Fruity scent
- Drying on the lips
- Tends to settle in fine lines
- Wear time - average, about 3-4 hours
My Rating: 3/5 stars - I love the super girly design of the lipsticks, the excellent pigmentation, and how both colors look on me, but quality wise, I think they are pretty comparable to some drugstore brands, such as Revlon. The semi-matte finish of these also doesn't help in providing any moisture and the color tends to settle in the fine lines of my lips.
Have you tried any of the Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk lipsticks?

the color look very nature and pigmented. Have you use etude house lip tint?
ReplyDelete3lin
I have the cherry colored one! I don't really like it though - I don't know if my lips are dry in some areas or what, but it always dries very unevenly on me :(
DeleteReally cute review both looks really natural and cute...
ReplyDeleteXoxo
I have this in OR202, and I agree with the drying effect. But the colors are still pretty.
ReplyDeletei like etude house. as always, the packaging always look super cute! and they look pretty on your lips!

This is such a cute color! Thanks for the review :)
ReplyDeleteThe packaging is so cute! I don't mind the wear time, but the fact that it settles into lines is a little sad.
ReplyDeleteThese lipsticks have such pretty packaging, I love the pink box and the cute little bow on the lipstick tube! (I'm a sucker for little details like that.) Love that soft pink, Im more of a pink than red lips type of girl, so this is right up my alley. :) It looks lovely on you!
ReplyDeleteGreat review! The packaging of these lipsticks look adorable.
ReplyDeleteNever tried any Etude products apart from one of their BB creams! I love your lip swatches~ They look great :D the colours really suit you too ^^
ReplyDeleteetude house lippies do tend to settle on line so i always wear them with balm. i love the colors from this range though and the packaging!
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty, but I expected the second one to be much bolder D;
ReplyDeleteThis is ridiculously cute! The packaging kills! If only the lipsticks were better quality though. I still love Korean cosmetics though. I want to go to Korea and just get massive amounts of stuff! :D

Oh my they look lovely! Have to try one of those in the future :) You should definitely check out Peripera lipsticks if you love cute designs.
ReplyDeletepassingfancyy.blogspot.com
Thanks for the suggestion Sara! I will definitely check out the Peripera lipsticks next time! I think I've seen some of their lipsticks on other blogs before. The name does sound a bit familiar :)
DeleteThe packaging is so princessy and lovely! :D The colours are very cute too. ^^
ReplyDeleteLove the colors! it's a pitty that it's drying on the lips, since i've dry lips T_T thanks for the review!

Both colors wear so pretty on you Rinny! It's a shame they're drying. I haven't tried these but I have to say I really adore the pretty and feminine packaging of Asian beauty products. In a way I'm glad that Etude House products aren't that readily available in the US cause it saves my wallet ;p
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a wonderful week!
Rowena @ rolala loves
The colors you chose are very pretty! However, I'm a bit concerned that they're on the dry side, since the biggest issues I have with my lips are the lines -_- Do you think applying lip balm beforehand will help?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review!
Jenny @ Geeky Posh
Hi Jenny! Applying lip balm beforehand definitely helps a bit!
DeleteThe packaging is so cute, I can't handle it! But my lips get so dry so the formula doesn't seem ideal for me :(
ReplyDeletexo, alison*elle
I LOVE Etude House products so much. ^^
ReplyDeleteI bought the BE101 too. It's a lovely colour. The coral colour is pretty. I wish I could have bought all the colours when I went Korea. It was so cheap there.
Most lipsticks are quite drying so I tend to apply lip balm on my lips.
Thanks for the lovely review Rinny. I want to buy the pink toned coral lipstick.
The whole colour range looks good!
ReplyDeleteAw that video was so cute! I didn't understand a lick of it, but I got the gist :P And those lipsticks--pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the packaging!! So gorgeous. Love the sheer shine as well.

great review <3
ReplyDeleteAww the lipsticks are so cute! I own a few etude house lipsticks and while they are so pigmented, I can never avoid them looking dry and settling into the fine lines of my lips :(
ReplyDeleteI have some eyeshadows and cheek blusher from Etude, they have adorable packaging but tends to go on really light. It's worth looking at them though lol
ReplyDeleteThe packaging is just so adorable. I was thinking about getting it in asia, but if you go to the etude houses outside of korea, it's always significantly more expensive. :(
ReplyDeleteHi Rinny, the lipsticks looks pretty! I haven't tried yet might go to etude house to check them out later :) love your review!
ReplyDeleteThe packaging is so cute and dainty! Both shades look nice on you ^_^ I like that there is a good variety of shades - especially the orange shades. #206 and #207 looks so pretty~
ReplyDeletethe packing and whimsical names of the shades are just too cute!
ReplyDeleteit is a shame the lipstick itself isn't that satisfying, though. :)
These lipsticks do look really cute but such a bummer that they are drying on the lips. My lips are sensitive and prone to peeling so I don't think I will be trying these out.
ReplyDeleteThe internship at INGLOT was very fun indeed. It's fun to walk into the office and be surrounded by shelves full of makeup.

I haven't tried any of the Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk lipsticks :(
ReplyDeleteEtude products always have cute design :3
thanks for the review!
The packaging is adorable but it's a shame they're drying >< I need really moisturizing lippies because my lips are sooo chapped all the time T_T
ReplyDeletere: Haha we love macarons and it turns out that we eat them quite regularly now!
oh thanks for reviewing! I freaking love Etude House haha. and the packaging is always *o* the colours you got are really pretty. it is unfortunate they're a bit drying, but we can kind of forgive them because of the adorable packaging...right? :P
ReplyDeletemetallicpaws.blogspot.com
Haha yes exactly! I'll just have to remember to pile on the lipbalm before I use these in the future :P
DeleteFirstly I laughed at the name of the lipstick, then at the video. After that, I threw all laughter out of the window and squealed for the pretty pink bow and embossing on the sides totally had be sold. The colours look so natural on your lips. It's such a pity that they would settle into the fine lines.

DeleteReading your comments always put a smile on my face ^_^
those lipsticks are SOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!! i'd totally buy one just to have to pretend i'm a cute princess of sorts :DDD
ReplyDeletebut gahhh! drying on the lips part doesn't sound too appealing T_T and if they're comparable to drug store lip sticks but are priced at 12-15$...if i had a choice, i'd prob stick to drugstore lipsticks since they cost less. thx for the review!
alex @ carouselstreet.com
omg those Etude House lippies looks great on your lip swatches, especially the last one, the pigments really show and reveals healthy looking lips! but mine are super dry already so it probably will seep into lines. I actually did a review on the salmon eye concealers haha. Those are my HG concealers now.

Ooooh so many colours! I love the packaging, it's so pretty. I love the stamped in logo. Sad to hear it's drying and makes lines more visible :(
ReplyDeleteI guess I won't be trying these because my lips get really flaky and horrible if I use very drying lipsticks
i really like OR204 the color is so pretty! ive been wanting to try these lippies ii saw em on Cosmetic love, thanks for the review :D
ReplyDeleteooo I love the super cute packaging too~ but I am really lazy at reapplying lipstick/lipgloss. just want one step on the go super moisturizing and long lasting one! lol

the swatches on your hand look dry. i got to say etude makes the cutest packaging, but not necessarily the greatest product.
